About Us

The BioREFS (Resource for Easing Friction and Stress) is a program for peer support within the Biology community.

We are a group of graduate students trained to provide an accessible and confidential resource to fellow graduate students, as well as undergraduates, postdocs, faculty, and staff. We can support, coach, listen, and informally mediate in times of stress. While we will never judge you or tell you what to do, we can help you explore your options or vent frustrations. We can also help you work through solutions for personal conflicts with co-workers, advisors, or between friends. BioREFS are also highly knowledgeable about the many resources on campus and can help you find other sources of support. Read here to learn more about what we do.
